Pictures of the die hard fishermen happy to be back at Loon Haunt in 2023

This photo shows the perfect rod tube light, strong and free.  It is the center of a roll of carpet. Free at the carpet store and they will cut to length.

Two adults and 8 cygnets.

Found hanging from a branch at Shore Lunch Island.  If you recognize this please let us know and we will hang on to it for you.

Our machine uses a Volkswagen engine from a Volkswagen van.  (64 hp)  2-17 foot Grumman canoes and a 20 foot speed head.
For those who might be interested in our Wild Rice harvesting activities.  Most of the  rice we flew out in our 185

We did however get one OTTER load with Superior Airways

Nice long grain wild rice about 70 pounds per bag.

Bags are zip tied and lined up for transport back to camp

The ripe rice falls into the speed head.  It takes about 7 pickings each 4 days apart to get the progressively ripening rice

The rice is pushed to the middle of the speed head where we open a hole to run the rice into bags.

We pick in both North Bay and South Bay so every 4 or 5 days we have to move the machine several miles.
